Join the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HfA) for a special evening of live music with acclaimed Canadian folk artist Caroline Marie Brooks in celebration of her newest album On Light and Matter. This intimate performance at Sandhill Nursery is also an event to thank HfA Friends of the Festival bringing together great music, delicious food & drink and a welcoming community atmosphere.

Supporters and Friends of the Festival will receive two complimentary tickets to the concert, with booking instructions provided via email. Tickets will also be available for purchase by the general public. This is a general admission event.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

On Light and Matter, Caroline Marie Brooks (1/3rd of Canadian Folk Trio Good Lovelies), finds herself in good company. The Ontario-based songwriter's second solo record spills over with visions of nature rendered in earthy folk-pop, locating wonder and comfort in the nourishing tendencies of the wider world's green and blue swaths of abundance while also coming to terms with the complexity of being in fellowship with other living things. Sweet, bright melodies wrap like vines around the connections in sisterhood, motherhood, friendship, and the natural world that she writes thoughtfully about, buoyed by intricate, rhythm-forward arrangements filled out primarily via accomplished musical companions Joshua Van Tassel and Dean Drouillard. Driven by Brooks' generative, poetic lyricism, Light and Matter's delicate, stirring songs pay the cherished phenomenon of good company forward, offering balm in the "solitude of twilight" and joy among your own loved or soon-to-be loved ones.

ABOUT THE VENUE

The concert takes place in Greenhouse #1 at Sandhill Nursery. This 1800 sq ft space features an intimate performance space with charming rustic décor and great acoustics. The audience space is floor level sturdy folding chairs facing a raised stage. Seating is by General Admission. There is standing room on sides and in the back.

Audiences are invited to arrive early to explore Sandhill Nursery's annual Fall Festival. Features include a pumpkin slingshot, two mazes, the scavenger hunt, cornhole games, art installations and more. Beverages will be available for purchase on site and as well as pizza from the Rusty Rake.
